Free to every reader, permanently. Written for the people doing the work, not for the people announcing the policy.
In the United States a contractor can pick up North American Clean Energy and find out what changed, what is being installed and what is failing. In Canada there is no equivalent written from inside the efficiency trade. The gap is not a market gap. It is the same representation gap that let a federal programme end without anyone in the industry being asked.
By advertising, so that it can be free to the reader. We are saying that plainly rather than pretending otherwise, and two rules follow from it. Advertising is labelled as advertising, every time. And nothing an advertiser pays for changes a company's tier on the register or its treatment in an article — the register and the magazine share a publisher and nothing else.
The magazine gets its own address rather than sitting inside the board's site, so that the publication and the register stay visibly separate. Subscriptions taken here move across with you.
No payment details now or ever. Two short steps, and the second one shapes what goes in the first issue.
The readership is the people who specify and install: contractors, energy advisors, service organizations, engineers and the programme staff who set the rules they work to. It is a small, expensive-to-reach audience that buys insulation, heat pumps, instruments, software and training.
The rate card and publication schedule are in preparation. Register now and two things follow: you help decide the formats, and you get the founding rate when it is set.

The registry
Listing is free, verified against the issuing body, and open to practitioners certified by anyone. The registry is only worth anything if it is the whole industry.
